Uniform : The original Teeswater Highlanders wore kilts of the Ancient Cameron tartan. After 1998, Band members wore kilts (often borrowed) of various tartans, which made for an interesting if unorthodox appearance on parade. In 2005 the Highlanders decided to have new kilts made in the Ancient MacDonald of the Isles tartan. Standard uniform items are balmorals, blue hose with tartan flashes, seal-skin sporrans and black belts with silver buckles. For warm-weather parades and concerts members wear short-sleeved white shirts, with black ties. Tartan shoulder flashes were added in 2012. Also in 2012, the Band purchased navy blue sweaters with epaulettes, for cold-weather events. On formal occasions, members wear white hose with 'Prince Charlie' jackets and waistcoats.
