From the will of William Parker, 1546: 'Robert Ripley left four feoffes of land in Felliscliff. William Parker of Kettlesing. Felliscliffe is a civil parish in North Yorkshire, England, in Nidderdale, Harrogate borough. It is an ancient Nidderdale township, first mentioned in the Domesday Book as 'Fyle's gyffe', later, 'Felagh's cliff' from the Old Norse. It is about four miles south-west of Ripley and seven miles from Knaresborough, close to the village of Hampsthwaite outside the spa town of Harrogate.(Gomersall)
