—ii. Neil Ferguson, b ca 1804.[34] The 1838 census for Gabarus to Mira Bay lists Neil Ferguson and wife along with Angus and Ewen (Hugh). Neil does not appear in the 1861 Census (Gabarus), nor does it seem he is living elsewhere, and he may have died. However, a Margaret Ferguson, b 1805-1840 is listed in the 1861 Census for Gabarus as Head of Household. Residing with her are one male and one female person, ages unknown. She appears in the Census next to Angus Ferguson. Neither Margaret nor the two unknown Fergusons with her are listed in the 1871 Census, at least not in Gabarus Lake.

+14.i. Donald Ferguson, b ca 1791. m Eunice MacDonald, b ca 1792.[37] Like his father, Donald became a farmer in Ruisgarry, paying £5.17.6 annual rent for his croft in 1830. About 1845, with the re-organisation of Ruisgarry’s crofts into larger plots, the family emigrated to Grand River. Donald passed away at St. Esprit, Cape Breton in 1875.[38]
+15.ii. Malcolm Ferguson, b ca 1796. m Mary Morrison, b ca 1815. Malcolm became a farmer, holding a small tenancy in Ruisgarry. In 1830 he was paying £5.12.6 annual rental. In 1845 to Fergusons’ Lake. Malcolm died at Grand River in 1873.[39]

15. Roderick Ferguson, b ca 1770.[40] m Christiana (Christy) MacDermid, b ca 1775. In 1818 Roderick Ferguson held a double croft in Ruisgarry, Harris with one of his sons, paying £13 5s annual rental. During the 1820s the family emigrated to Cape Breton.

16. John Ferguson, b ca 1790. John was the son of Angus Ferguson. John became a tenant in Borve where, in 1818, he is listed as paying £5.10s annual rent. John had two sons, Alexander and Peter. They emigrated to Grand River, Cape Breton during the 1820s.[44]
