19. Abraham Deyo [Abraham4th, Abraham3rd, Pierre2nd, Christian1st], b Feb 27, 1736 d Sep 12, 1808.[1] m (1) Elsie LeFevre. m (2) Maria LeFevre. Abraham Deyo was commissioned First Lieutenant (1775) and later Captain (1778) of the Third Ulster County Regiment, Second Company. He was a member of the Twelve Men representing his greatgrandfather Pierre's share of the patent (1774, 1779, 1794, 1805), and held numerous offices in the town of New Paltz. Positions include the offices of Constable (1771), Tax Collector (1771), Overseer of the Poor (1773), Fence Viewer (1774-76, 1784, 1789), Overseer of Roads (1775, 1776, 1783, 1784, 1788, 1789), Commissioner of Highways (1779) and Assessor (1790, 1794, 1796). Also active in the Church, he was appointed Manager in charge of "building a new church at New Paltz" (1771-1775), Churchmaster (1777-1805) Deacon (1778-1779) and Elder (1776-1777). According to Ralph Lefevre, Abraham Deyo was entrusted with caring for the Town's papers during the Revolutionary War when there was a fear that the British were going to march on New Paltz. This chest was supposedly kept hidden in the cellar of the Deyo House, which was at that time owned by Captain Deyo.[2]

23. Philip Deyo [Abraham4th, Abraham3rd, Pierre2nd, Christian1st], b ca 1752 d Dec 21, 1831. m Gertude Le Fevre, b Oct 13, 1753 d Jul 9, 1829. Like his brother Abraham, Philip was also engaged in numerous public activities at New Paltz. He represented Pierre's share of the Patent as a member of the Twelve Men from 1791, 1793 and served as Overseer of Roads (1792) and Assessor (1795). In 1791, the Twelve Men selected Philip along with Roelof Eltinge and Josiah Hasbrouck to represent New Paltz in a Case of Ejectment against Titus Ketchum and the people of Marbletown, New York. This case dealt with a longstanding border dispute between New Paltz and Marbletown. New Paltz finally won the case in 1804. Like the rest of his family, Philip was also a member of the Dutch Reformed Church at New Paltz.[28]

The 1820 United States Census lists a Benjamin Deyo in Fabius, Onondaga County, New York. His family includes one male aged 26 through 44 (Benjamin would have been 33 in 1820), one female aged 26 through 44, two males under ten (Nathaniel and Jonathan), one male 16 through 25 and one female aged 10 through 15. The latter two may be a brother and sister of either Benjamin or his wife. The Census notes that two persons in the family are engaged in agriculture.

This is about seven miles from the location of the Christopher Deyo homestead on the south shore, and about twenty-two miles from Cicero, New York. Also buried in Fish Creek Landing Cemetery is Mariah Deyo, wife of Leonard Deyo, b ca 1798. Mariah died Jun 20, 1878, aged 84.
