In 1901 he became Assistant Engineer at the Canadian Northwest Irrigation Co. in Alberta and over the next eleven years he worked as a construction engineer for Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and Canadian Pacific Railway in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan overseeing grade revisions and the building of viaducts. When these projects were completed he was sent by C.P.R. to Nova Scotia to oversee the Dominion Atlantic Railway's replacement of bridges on the waters of the Bay of Fundy. In 1912 Ripley was appointed Engineer in Charge of Grade Separation, C.P.R., North Toronto, during which time he produced a photograph album documenting the construction relating to the grade separation. In 1916 he was appointed Lieutenant-Colonel of the Canadian Railway Troops raised for railway and bridge construction work at the front. He earned the Distinguished Service Order while overseas and, at the close of the war, he was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire. Blair Ripley died in 1958."

George King who I believe lived as George Ripley, married and fathered three children (one of which was "Abbirt), and then moved to Massachusetts where he died as George King, (born in "Nubeck, ME, parents Edward and Elizabeth), a cook in a prison. I recently (2018) found on Ancestry a very interesting record of birth for Albert Ripley, son of George Ripley/King. It wasn't filed until 1926 and he was born in 1890. As far as I know he always lived as Albert Ripley in both Canada and Maine, but the birth certificate lists him as Albert E. King, born June 1, 1890 in Calais, ME, father's name George King, mother's name Nellie Simpson. Frank Colin Ripley's birth certificate was late being filed too but his last name does appear as Ripley."
